The Registry

Many of you are traveling across state lines, across the country, or using your passports to celebrate with us in Salt Lake City, so your presence means the world to us and is all we ask for.

If you'd still like to contribute to our new home together while Elliot is in grad school, we have linked our registry below:

The Bride

A short snippet about Elliot (they/them)

I grew up in a small town in central Arkansas until the age of 18, then I moved to Texas for college and have since continued westward, meeting Henry in Colorado before moving to Utah together for his job. I have been out as non-binary for over a third of my life now. I’m finishing up my B.S. in Psychology here in Utah and working professionally from home as a Peer Navigator for people with PTSD. With the love and support of Henry, I have applied to graduate school back in northern Colorado for Counseling Psychology. My ultimate vocational goal is to reduce the shortage of psychological care that exists right now, because my life has been deeply touched by mental illness. When I’m not working or studying, I can be found practicing photography or baking something to share with the neighbors. Henry is the guiding light of my life, and I can’t wait to marry him.

FAQs

  • Beverage hour was Elliot’s idea to give guests a soft arrival time for the ceremony space. Essentially, beverage hour allows guests to arrive anytime between 9:00am and 10:00am and be perfectly on time to enjoy a coffee, smoothie, or mimosa prior to the ceremony! We want people to be able to chat and mingle and have a snack and drink before participating in the ceremony. Your RSVP has a space to tell us what your preferred beverage is!

  • Casual, laid-back, and queer-affirming. We’re here to celebrate our love with the people who have loved us as we are and have a good time. No pretenses! Come, and be yourself. There will literally be randos camping in other sites nearby, so anything goes basically.

Of note, our wedding ceremony will be non-traditional and written through at Unitarian Universalist lens. We look forward to sharing this aspect of our faith with our loved ones!

  • Unitarian Universalism is a progressive faith that has its roots near Boston, Massachusetts in the early 1600s. There is no official scripture, and most of us do not identify as Christians (some are atheists or Buddhists, for example). We do all agree on some things, like the below.

    The 7 UU Principles are:

    1. The inherent worth and dignity of every person

    2. Justice, equity, and compassion in human relations

    3. Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth

    4. Free and responsible search for truth and meaning

    5. Right of conscience and use of democratic process

    6. Goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all

    7. Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are all a part

  • Anything that you will feel comfortable in outdoors in May in Cottonwood Heights, UT. Temperature averages for that area are between 75F for a high and 49F for a low. We would recommend sensible shoes and a light jacket for spring weather in the mountains. Don’t feel the need to get fancy on our account!

  • 7,500 feet! Please hydrate, acclimate, and rest accordingly.

  • Yes, at both the ceremony and reception sites!

  • Gentle, flat dirt path leading into a forested area. Minor elevation change, not quite a hill. The walk is wheelchair accessible.

  • We are contacting the campground manager for more information! TBD.

  • That is to allow time for everyone to leave the canyon and drive down to the city where a food truck will be waiting at our favorite park right near our house!

If you need a longer gap, consider the reception to be drop-in and leave whenever you’re ready to head back to your accommodations or start sightseeing!

  • If you mean tell you great places to stay and eat, absolutely! We can give you tips on riding the train from the airport or the best restaurants and bars in town. We love helping people customize a fun weekend while they are here in our city. We probably can’t book your flights though.

  • Please text Elliot at 385-267-6835 to ensure this gets taken care of appropriately.

We hope you’ll join us on this special day.
